Guggeheim Foundation Elects William Mack as Presiden |

NEW YORK.- The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation today announced that Board member William Mack has been elected President of the Foundation. The Foundation also announced the election of Louise T. Blouin MacBain to the Board of Trustees.
“This is a very important moment for the Foundation,” commented Peter B. Lewis, Chairman. “With the election of William Mack as President, the Guggenheim is wonderfully positioned to take on the challenges ahead. We will benefit immensely from his experience and expertise. We are also delighted to welcome Louise MacBain, whose tremendous acumen as an art collector and success as an executive make her an ideal addition to the Board.”
William Mack joined the Board in 2003. Mr. Mack is a founder and managing partner of Apollo Real Estate Advisors, L.P., and the co-developer on the recently opened Time Warner Center in New York City. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, President and CEO of the Mack Organization, and serves as a director of Wyndham International, Inc. He is a past director of the Empire State Development Corporation and is a past Chairman of the Long Island Power Authority, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York, and the New York Convention Center Operating Corporation. He is Vice Chairman of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and currently serves on its Executive Committee. Mr. Mack is a member of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is very active with the Wharton School and serves on the Board of Overseers. Mr. Mack and his wife created the William and Phyllis Mack Center for Technological Innovation at Wharton, and also established the William Mack Scholarship Endowment Fund, the Mack Professorship, Mack Plaza, and provides additional support to the Wharton Real Estate Center and the Institute of Contemporary Art at the university.
Louise T. Blouin MacBain, entrepreneur, publisher, and philanthropist, is a passionate collector of art across several disciplines. She is President and founder of LTB Holding Ltd., an investment holding company with a portfolio of 165 publications and an annual readership of over 14 million. Formerly, Ms. MacBain was CEO of Phillips, de Pury & Luxembourg and Chairman of the Board and CEO of Trader Classified Media. Ms. MacBain holds a number of memberships in international business and art organizations, as well as holding the Presidency of her own Foundation Blouin MacBain. She is also a Board Member of the Bard Center in New York; an honorary member of the Chairman's Council at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; a member of the International Council of the Tate Museum, London; a Board Member of the Honorary Committee of AROP (Association pour le Rayonnement de l'Opéra de Paris); a member of the International Committee for the Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs du Louvre; the International Council Chairman for the Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation; and a Benefactor of St. George's House (Windsor Castle) and of the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.
