French Art Thief Stephane Breitwieser On Trial

STRASBOURG, FRANCE.- French thief Stephane Breitwieser, 33, is on trial in Strasbourg. He has already admitted to stealing 239 artworks in seven European countries in 1995-2001. He was sentenced to four years in jail in Switzerland in February 2003. According to the thief, he was motivated by a love of art. Last year he was extradited to face charges for 20 he stole in France.
