Sculptor Fumio Yoshimura, 76, Dies



NEW YORK.- Sculptor Fumio Yoshimura, 76, died. Yoshimura was born in Japan and studied painting at the Tokyo University of Arts. He went to live to New York in the 1950’s. He made detailed wooden replicas of everyday objects, often taking months finishing one work. Works by Yoshimura are at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College.
