NEW YORK, NY.- Christie's August sale of Interiors totaled $2,426,250 with 96% sold by lot and 97% sold by value. The sale attracted a high volume of new bidders, with robust participation across all sales channels, and a significant amount of online bidding through Christie’s LIVE. There was significant global participation with registrants from 48 countries across Asia, the Americas, Middle East, Europe, United Kingdom, Russia, and Australia.

The top lot of the sale was Jane Freilicher (American, 1924–2014), Flying Point, which realized $72,500 against a low estimate of $10,000. Additionally, strong prices were achieved for the selection of Property from the Collection of Tom Britt, with 100% of the lots offered sold and many significantly surpassing initial estimates.

Ahead of the sale Christie’s worked alongside tastemakers Sarah Bray, Interiors Editor at Modern Luxury, and Anne Spilman, designer, to select objects from the sale and create a series of vignettes and to co-host Christie’s Lates on Monday, August 20, which was free and open to the public and welcomed approximately 600 guests into the galleries.
