NOTRE DAME, IN.- The Snite Museum of Art presents Selections from the Native North American Art Collection, on view through March 4, 2007 at the Milly and Fritz Kaeser Mestrovic Studio Gallery. This show is an extension of the permanent Native North American exhibit. It will include several exhibits created by the students of the Native North American Art History course at the University of Notre Dame and Joanne Mack, curator of Native North American art at The Snite Museum of Art. The show includes objects from several regions of North America, including pottery, textiles, clothing, and other items made of wood or stone. The goal of the exhibits is to illustrate the diversity of art traditions produced by Native North American peoples. It also provides an opportunity to exhibit some objects from the collection which have not been recently displayed.
