MoMA Adds Evening Hours on the First Thursday of Each Month

NEW YORK, NY.- The Museum of Modern Art will remain open until 8:45 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month, from January through June 2010, providing visitors with extended hours to view MoMA’s collection and special exhibitions. Regular Museum admission applies.

MoMA Nights will include music by DJs and a cash bar featuring a specialty cocktail. A prix fixe dinner created by Chef Lynn Bound will be available in Cafe 2. Gallery talks will be offered at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m., and admission will include regularly scheduled films at the Museum.

On January 7, DJ AJ Slim will spin a set with house, rare soul, afrobeat, and funk, in The Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium. At 8:00 p.m., 'My Neighbor, My Killer' (Kinyarwanda), Anne Aghion’s documentary, will screen in MoMA’s Theater 2.

Exhibitions on view will include "Tim Burton" (through April 26, 2010), "Bauhaus 1919–1933: Workshops for Modernity" (through January 25, 2010), and "Gabriel Orozco" (through March 1, 2010). Timed tickets, available online at MoMA.org at no additional charge, are recommended for Tim Burton.
