NEW YORK, NEW YORK.-The Kolodzei Art Foundation, Inc., The Moscow Museum of Modern Art, The Harriman Institute, The World Russian Forum and The New York Public Library present Art Constitution: The Illustrated Constitution of the Russian Federation, a new book published in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Art Constitution: The Illustrated Constitution of the Russian Federation is a collaborative project reflecting the individuality of more than 100 artists of different generations.
The project, composed entirely of works from the last 10 years (the period when this Constitution has been in effect), allows us to trace the evolution and to see the complete spectrum of contemporary Russian art through the illustration of each of the Constitution’s 137 articles. The Art Constitution brings together artists who began their careers during Khrushchev’s "Thaw" and others who first distinguished themselves in the post-Soviet period, all of whom now enjoy the opportunities and challenges of artistic freedom in the new Russia. The book’s 137 illustrations represent virtually all the artistic trends and movements of the second half of the 20th century. The project was organized by Ivan Kolesnikov, Sergei Denisov, and Petr Vois, with support from the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Kolodzei Art Foundation, Inc., and S‚Art Gallery.
The Art Constitution Project features the exhibition of 30 posters from the Art Constitution: The Illustrated Constitution of the Russian Federation, book presentation, and lectures by the project’s organizers.

The Kolodzei Art Foundation (KAFI) promotes the contemporary art of Russia and the former Soviet Union. The Harriman Institute at Columbia University was founded in 1946 as the Russian Institute. It was renamed in 1982 for Ambassador W. Averell Harriman and his wife, Ambassador Pamela C.
