Bonhams appoints Jennifer Jacobsen and Caitlyn Pickens to new positions

NEW YORK, NY.- The international auction house Bonhams announces the appointments of Jennifer Jacobsen as Director of American Art and Caitlyn Pickens as Head of Sale, Impressionist & Modern Art. Both will be based in New York.

Bonhams Global CEO Matthew Girling said, “I am delighted to welcome both Jennifer Jacobsen and Caitlyn Pickens to Bonhams. Their experience will greatly add to the strength of our fine arts departments as we continue to grow our business in the United States.”

Jennifer Jacobsen is the Director of American Art at Bonhams in New York. Prior to joining Bonhams, she was at Christie’s New York for about nine years. Most recently Jennifer was a specialist and head of sale for American Art. She also worked on significant private sales as well as some of the strongest online auctions for the category. She has an extensive research background in the field with expertise ranging from American 19th Century art and Impressionism, through Modernism, Regionalism and Illustration art.

Jennifer received her M.A. Joint Honors degree in Art History and International Relations at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Caitlyn Pickens is the Head of Sale for the Impressionist and Modern Art department in New York. Before joining Bonhams in 2018, she worked at Sotheby’s New York as a specialist on the Impressionist & Modern Art evening sale team. Caitlyn will oversee sales and business strategy for the department's New York auctions under the direction of India Phillips, Global Head of Impressionist and Modern Art.

Caitlyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Franklin and Marshall College and will obtain her master's degree in Art History from Hunter College this fall.
