LONDON.- On 21 and 22 April, Bonhams will offer an astonishing range of motorcycles, spares and memorabilia at its marathon two-day auction at the International Classic MotorCycle Show in Stafford. 16 single-owner collections will be offered alongside everything from supremely rare Vintage models to modern superbikes of impeccable provenance.

The ex-J.D Potts 1929 Grindlay-Peerless 498cc Brooklands ‘Hundred Model’ (Lacey Replica)
One of only two known survivors from a total of five or six ever made, this Grindlay Peerless is the last word in important Vintage racers. After Bill Lacey became the first man to cover 100 miles in an hour on UK soil on his own Grindlay-Peerless, the Coventry factory wasted no time in creating replicas of the mighty machine. However, the project proved expensive and only 5 or 6 are believed to have been made. This example was owned and raced by the legendary JD Potts, the winner of the last ever Amateur TT (as the Manx Grand Prix was then known) in 1929. This machine is impressively original, remarkably rare and has in-period racing history at both Brooklands and the Manx Grand Prix (£45,000-55,000).

The private collection of Angelo Parilla
Angelo Parilla – known by many as the man who discovered Ayrton Senna and brought him to Italy – is offering part of his impressive private collection for sale. He is a scion of the Parilla family, famous for creating Italy’s first post-war racing motorcycle as well as range of scramblers and road-going machines. 5 Parilla machines will be offered, all of which have been signed by Angelo himself. One highlight is the 1961 Moto Parilla 125cc Sprint (£3,200-4,200), which is entirely original and unrestored. It has covered a mere 385 kilometres from new, almost entirely within the confines of the factory grounds

Record-breaking, ex-works, Grand Prix racing 1989 Honda Type RC30
The ex-Honda Britain, Brian Morrison, Steve Hislop 1989 Honda VFR750R Type RC30 (£25,000-35,000) remains one of the most desirable and collectable modern classics of the motorcycling world. Genuine racing RC30s are very rare, and this ex-works example also boasts races at the 1989 Macau Grand Prix and a track record-breaking run at the 1989 TT.

Dozens of Ducatis
An astonishing array of Ducati machines will be offered, including the 1974 Ducati 750Ss Project (£30,000-40,000). Only 401 examples of this desirable ‘round case’ version were ever built, and the 750SS remains one of the most sought-after of all Ducatis. This project has been in present ownership since 1979 and is entirely original save a repaint – this is surely one of the last un-restored models available. A dream project for the Ducati enthusiast! A further 19 Ducatis are included in the sale, such as the 1987 Ducati 851 ‘Superbike Edizione 11/1987’ Racing Motorcycle, which is currently owned by Alan Cathcart. This is the first customer-delivered Desmoquattro and has covered only 500 miles from new, having been raced by Alan at Donington Park and Spa Francorchamps. A fascinating piece of the Bologna factory’s history.

James Stensel, Head of Department UK, commented: ‘The true breadth of Bonhams motorcycle auctions has never been better illustrated than by this year’s Spring Stafford Sale. The sale comprises some 300 machines ranging from Vintage project bikes to barely-touched 90's racers. Over half of the lots come from single-owner collections, further cementing Bonhams reputation as the auction house of choice for collections. We are looking forward to welcoming customers new and old to our marathon two-day sale and building on the successes of previous years.’
