NEW YORK, NY.- The New Art Dealers Alliance, the definitive non-profit arts organization dedicated to the cultivation, support, and advancement of new voices in contemporary art, announced the organization’s first off-site exhibition, Close Quarters, featuring eight NADA Member galleries on Governors Island. Open July 1–29, artwork will be displayed across two floors of a historic turn-of-the-century Colonial Revival house on Governors Island, and will be on view every weekend in July, Friday through Sunday, 11am-5pm.

The exhibition will feature artists Michael Mahalchick of CANADA, Asif Mian of False Flag, Rainer Ganahl of Kai Matsumiya, Fabienne Lasserre of Safe Gallery, Jerry the Marble Faun of SITUATIONS, Hayley Martell and Devin Morris of Signal, Johanna Unzueta of Proyectos Ultravioleta, and Jeff Williams of Jack Hanley Gallery.

“Partnerships and public programming are essential to creating alternative platforms for NADA Members and their artists,” said Heather Hubbs, Executive Director of NADA. “We look forward to amplifying NADA’s year-round programming by creating new opportunities to showcase contemporary art in fresh environments. It’s a unique opportunity for NADA to organize a show on Governors Island, and we’re excited to welcome visitors to this beautiful historic landmark, and to continue to collaborate with Governors Island in the future.”

As part of NADA’s expanding commitment to year-round programming, Close Quarters is an opportunity for NADA members to stage a group show in an intimate and unusual setting, with only one or two artists on display in each room.

Previously occupied by the Coast Guard, House 403 has a storied history on Governors Island, serving as the site of many of President Ronald Reagan’s meetings with world leaders, including Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev. The house is located within the Governors Island Historic District, by the New York City Landmarks and Preservation Commission.
