LONDON.- The next Antique Arms Fair at Pillar Hall, Olympia London, takes place this Autumn on 29th September 2018. This biannual event will continue to focus on maintaining the high quality of objects for sale as well as augmenting the visitor numbers with every fair. The fair has also been praised for its excellent organisation, a reputation it strives to retain.

Dealers from the UK, Europe and America attending the fair will include Runjeet Singh, Patrick Mestdagh, Peter Finer Ltd, Rodney Akeroyd & Son, West Street Antiques, Morion Antiques and Magazin Royal.

An accompanying guide will include essays by top academics from the world of Antique Arms and Armour, including Ian Eaves, MVO FSA, former Keeper of Armour at the Royal Armouries, Herbert G. Houze, Curator Emeritus, Buffalo Bill Center, Cody Firearms Museum, and Stuart W. Pyhrr, Distinguished Research Curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

The fair organisers are continuing to sponsor the highly regarded Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. The Charity funds the training and education of talented and aspiring craftspeople through traditional college courses, vocational training, apprenticeships or one on one training with a master craftsperson. It is critical to enhance and nurture those essential craft skills that make a vital contribution to Britain’s cultural identity and the economy. Donations received on the day of the fair as well as a percentage of ticket sales will go to the Trust.

Prices for the objects start at around £50 and go up to tens of thousands.

Tom Bennett from the Arms and Armour Society ‘found the quality of the tables outstanding’, Runjeet Singh said ‘The show staff and organisation was great’, and Roberta d’Este and Michael Appleby thanked the organisers for the ‘best ever exhibitor care and consideration’, and said they were ‘much looking forward to Autumn’. Patrick Mestdagh said ‘We met new customers’ and was delighted to have sold a fine Indian shield.
