The Moritz Grossmann 10th anniversary collection aims to celebrate its history by including pieces that require a diverse range of skills from its master watchmakers. Founded in November 2008, Christine Hutter established Grossmann Uhren using the distinguished name of the eminent watchmaker of Glashütte, Moritz Grossmann. In doing so, she ensured that the legacy of the celebrated watch pioneer was revived after its more than a century of successful business. Highlights from the Moritz Grossmann capsule include BENU No 1, the first timepiece produced after the brand’s revival (estimate: $12,000-18,000). Another very special lot is the original, rose gold Moritz Grossmann ladies’ pocket watch, manufactured around 1875, which will be sold as a set together with the ATUM 37 Hommage wristwatch that pays homage to the early design (estimate: $20,000-30,000). Additional pieces include the BENU Tourbillon Orange Titanium with an ultra-light case made of brushed titanium (estimate: $60,000-100,000) the TEFNUT Grand Dame, which was specially handcrafted according to the design of an original Moritz Grossmann ladies’ pocket watch from the 19th century (estimate: $8,000-12,000) and an original Moritz Grossmann men’s Pocket Watch encased in a gold savonette case (estimate: $3,000-5,000).
