MONTCLAIR, NEW JERSEY.- The Montclair Art Museum presents Jan Matulka: The Global Modernist, on view January 16, 2005. This exhibition was organized with TMG Projects for the estate of Jan Matulka. Bringing this Czech-born modernist’s achievements to a wider audience, the exhibition is comprised of over 50 works of painting, watercolors, drawings, and prints produced by Matulka between 1916 and 1950. The show is coordinated at the Montclair Art Museum by Patterson Sims, Director, who has added additional loans of Matulka’s work, including works inspired by Matulka’s contacts with Native Americans during his travels to the Southwestern United States.
