Bonhams announced the appointment of Chris Tolson as Chief Technology Officer with immediate effect.
Chris will be based in the auction houses London headquarters in New Bond Street and will lead the global transformation of the digital landscape at Bonhams. He will be working with the IT team to enhance all aspects of the companys technology strategy and to ensure it aligns with the business goals. In particular, Chris will oversee the overhaul of the Bonhams website and take the digital experience across all platforms to the next stage.
Tolson has been involved in the cutting-edge of digital technology since 1995. After gaining a first-class degree in Design Management at De Montfort University, Leicester, he has worked in a variety of technical roles, including Chief Platform Architect at bet365, where he was responsible for the entire IT delivery for the global operation of the business and which was transformed by his initiatives during the 12 years that he worked for the company. Subsequently, Tolson joined the telecommunications provider, NTT Europe, as CTO, where his mission was to lead IT strategy, and The Workshop, where as Chief Information Officer, he headed up all aspects of the future service strategy.
