ZUNDERT.- The Vincent van Gogh House in Zundert presents the exhibition Vincent inspires from January 19th until March 17th 2019. With new artworks from the museum collection one sees that van Gogh still is a current source of inspiration for contemporary artists.
You can see artworks by artists who worked in the guest studio next to the Van Gogh church. These artists work here inspired by van Gogh's native village and the surrounding natural region. In exchange for their stay in the residency they donate one work to the Van Gogh House.
In this exhibition you can see artworks from the period between 2017-2018, like Ingrid Simons, Albert Zwaan, Jeroen Witvliet, Anna Lange, René van Trier, Lindert Paulussen, Bettie van Haaster, Arpaïs Du Bois, Diana Roig en Kurt Ryslavy.
Also you can see two artworks which were donated during the 10th anniversary of the Van Gogh House. Paul Andriesse at the time donated the diptych called Sunflowers by Erik Andriesse (1957 1993). Peter Kantelberg donated an early work of 1981 inspired by The potato eaters.
For this exhibition installations were specially made by the current artist in residence Aram Tanis and by Ian Skirvin who won the 2018 Van Gogh AiR award of St Joost (University of Art).
In the Museum shop you can see the special photo edition which Vik Muniz made for the flower parade of Zundert. The painting of Van Gogh's shoes was made out of 60.000 dahlias in the garden of the Van Gogh House. The picture which Muniz made of the tableau was made in an edition of 25 signed C -prints which are for sale.
