BRUSSELS, BELGIUM.-Picture taken 27 October 2004 at the Rond Point Schuman in Brussels showing pictures of the Pope John Paul II, two homosexual, Lybian leader Moamar Khadafi and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder kissing his French counterpart Jacques Chirac exhibited in an artistic installation conceived by leading Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas to celebrate the Dutch 2004 Presidency of the European Union. The exhibition, housed under a tent and sponsored by Netherlands, is an 80 meter panoramic mural, a chronological arrangement of Europe's visual manifestations, past and present, that shows how the idea of Europe has evolved over the last 50 years and speculating about its possible future(s). The aim of the exhibition is to show the way in which Europe is represented through words and symbols. Visitors are confronted at each of the tent's four entrances with the outer wall of a circular panorama.
