NEW YORK, NY.- Christie’s Collector week, a three-day series of sales taking place from October 15-17, will feature a diverse array of decorative and fine art. This season’s sales are distinguished by a strong offering of fresh to the market works from several private collections; each notable for their distinctive style and fine connoisseurship. The sales include property from the estates of Lee Bouvier Radziwill, Terry Allen Kramer, Rosa Strygler, and Kaye Miller and property from the collection of Helen Fioratti and encompass more than 840 lots of English and European furniture, ceramics, silver, carpets, paintings and decorative works of art.

Christie’s will partner with the venerable design house Le Manach to incorporate fabrics in the auction exhibitions and catalogues. On the evening of October 11th, during the auction preview, Christie’s will hold its LATES event themed ‘The Eclectic Collector.’ Showcasing the auction preview alongside guest vendors and delectable food and drinks, it will promote conversation about the intersection of life and art. Entry is free.

From the restrained to the ornate, a diverse representation of furniture by master designers and craftsmen includes a George III cream-painted and parcel-gilt sofa, attributed to Thomas Chippendale, circa 1775 (estimate: $25,000-50,000); a matched pair of late Louis XV ormolu-mounted red and gilt-Japanned cabinets, by Pierre Garnier, circa 1765 (estimate: $25,000-50,000); a pair of French ormolu-mounted kingwood, mahogany and bois de bout marquetry commodes, by François Linke, with mounts designed by Leon Message, circa 1900 (estimate: $40,000-60,000); and works designed by Renzo Mongiardino from the Collection of Lee Bouvier Radziwill including two black and gilt-japanned étagères (estimate: $5,000-8,000).

Other standout works in the week include a pair of fine and massive French Aubusson tapestries, 'Le Depart de la Chasse au Faucon' and 'Le Retour de la Chasse' by Braquenie & Cie, after Louis-Marie Baader, circa 1880-85 (estimate: $80,000-120,000). Among the works with imperial provenance is a Sèvres porcelain green-ground ice-pail from the ‘Service A Fleurs De L’imperatrice Josephine’ made for Josephine Bonaparte (estimate: $25,000-40,000). Additional porcelain highlights include a pair of Mintons pâte-sur-pâte dusky rose vases by Louis Solon, circa 1877-78 (estimate: $60,000-80,000) and a Meissen porcelain 'jeweled' cobalt-blue ground mantel clock and stand (estimate: $15,000-25,000).

Exceptional works of silver on offer include a monumental and early champagne cooler by Georg Jensen,1915-1919 (estimate: $50,000-80,000), a Queen Anne Silver Monteith by Samuel Wastell, 1704 (estimate: $15,000-25,000) and a
Regency silver two-handled tray by Paul Storr, 1816 (estimate: $15,000-25,000).

The Collection of Lee Bouvier Radziwill illustrates the erudite and illustrious society in which she lived. The lots include fascinating photobooks, one of which is a rare, detailed photographic record of Jackie Kennedy and Lee Radziwill's semi-official trip to India in March 1962 with numerous images capturing the sisters’ historic visit (estimate: $40,000-60,000); a partial set of design maquettes supplied by Renzo Mongiardino (estimate: $20,000-30,000); and an annotated photo Running Giraffe by Peter Beard (estimate: $30,000-50,000).
