Annual Holiday Benefit Sale and Auction

NEW YORK.- The Lower East Side Printshop will host its annual holiday sale with an online and onsite auction and sale to benefit the organization. The holiday benefit sale is considered one of the best opportunities in the year for collectors and art lovers interested in printmaking to buy works by mid-career and emerging artists.

The on-line auction will take place December 8 and 9 at http://printshop.org, and will feature works by Tom Burckhardt, Hugo Gellert, Elliot Green, Arturo Herrera, Joan Linder, Stas Orlovski, Andrew Raftery, Alison Saar, Juan Sánchez, Dread Scott, Arlene Shechet, Laurie Simmons, Carol Wax, among others.

From November 8- December 31, an on-line sale of original works priced at $50 will be available with new works being added every day. On December 11, 12-6 pm, the sale will continue on-site during a day-long open house. Artwork in the sale features prints in range of techniques including etching, silk screening, and woodblock. This annual event allows individuals to purchase original works of art by both emerging and mid-career artists for a special price. The sale of affordable artwork provides a unique opportunity to obtain original gifts for the Holidays.

Proceeds from the sales will help the Printshop in their move from the current location to a dramatically larger space in midtown. The move will allow the Printshop to expand its workspace and printing services, and educational programming to meet the needs of a wider audience. The Printshop is currently located at 59-61 East Fourth Street, 6th floor, between Bowery and 2nd Avenue in New York City.
