BATON ROUGE, LA.- Beginning February 2020, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum’s Board of Trustees will be led by community volunteer leader and its current Chair-Elect Kathy Fletcher Victorian. An ardent supporter of the Museum, Ms. Victorian was elected to her position by the Board of Trustees in February 2019, and served as the Chair of LASM’s 34th Annual Gala, CHROMA: Color Your Senses, the Museum’s largest fundraiser of the year.

“My hope for 2020 is that LASM will be viewed as more than just a collector of artifacts, but as a community champion that offers a meaningful experience to all who walk through its doors,” said Ms. Victorian.

In addition to her service on LASM’s board, Ms. Victorian sits on the board for Habitat for Humanity Greater Baton Rouge, The Safety Place, Urban League of Louisiana, and serves as the Board Chair of YWCA Greater Baton Rouge. She is well-known for her support of many non-profit organizations in Baton Rouge.

“I am a passionate advocate for the Museum because I am a passionate advocate for my community,” said Victorian. “Every investment of time, talent, and treasure in this wonderful institution is put directly toward educating, enlightening, and empowering the students and public who visit the Art & Science Museum.”

Originally from Ferriday, Louisiana, Ms. Victorian is a graduate of Southern University A&M College, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting and her Master’s Degree in Mass Communications. Additionally, she earned her MBA from the University of Phoenix. Prior to serving in her current position as the Medicaid Territory Marketing Manager for Healthy Blue Louisiana, Ms. Victorian served as Program Director for City Hall Fellows Baton Rouge and as the first and only Executive Director of the Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Victorian is also a past president of the Junior League of Baton Rouge and a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Baton Rouge. She is a recipient of the Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award, the Louise MacFarland Award for Excellence in Public Health Communication, the 2019 Emerge Center Volunteer Activist Award, and is an honoree of the Mid-South’s Louisiana Do-Gooder of the Year.

“The Louisiana Art & Science Museum is most grateful and fortunate to have an advocate with the level of energy, talent, and generosity that Kathy has,” said Serena Pandos, President & Executive Director of LASM. “Her leadership and encouragement during our 34th Annual Gala helped make it one of the most successful ever. I am confident that her board leadership will play an integral part in the Museum’s success and ever-growing impact within the Baton Rouge area.”
