Interpol Looks For 901 Art Works Stolen in Argentina |

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA.- According to the Clarin newspaper, Interpol is looking for more than 900 works of art stolen in Argentina, among them are works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Degas, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Bartolomé Murillo, Francisco de Goya, El Greco, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Titian, Vecellio, and Cézanne stolen since 2002. The value of all of the works stolen in Argentina is several million dollars, although there is no precise value for them.
This year, there were 89 thefts of which 24 works were recovered. There were also 109 archeological works recovered. The greatest art theft in Argentina took place at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes on Christmas eve 1980 with sixteen stolen works.
