The Victoria & Albert Museum.

LONDON, UK.- Eight Italian Renaissance plaquettes were stolen from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The plaquettes are worth around £500,000. This is the third time a theft occurs in the galleries of the V&A in recent months. The museum reported the works were stolen this past Wednesday. The works are 10 cm high. It appealed to the art community to trace the plaquettes. The works depict religious scenes. Two plaquettes are by Riccio. Three from the workshop of Donatello and three by Moderno.
The director of the V&A, Mark Jones, said: "This appears to have been a well-planned professional theft."
