MARIPOSA, CA.- Fine art digital photographer Charlie Morey of Studio City, California, has received a 2005 Artist-in-Residence award from
Yosemite Renaissance. Morey will receive a free month's lodging at California's Yosemite National Park to create new images, some of which will be included in an exhibition at the Yosemite Museum Gallery.
"I've visited Yosemite once before. During three days in February, 2003, I produced a large portfolio of images, 27 of which are displayed on my website, digitalphotography.tv. I was very fortunate; the valley presented me with rain, then sunshine, and when I awoke on my last morning in Yosemite Valley, I discovered that it had snowed! "As I walked to the truck, I looked upward with a huge grin and said, 'Thank you, Ansel!' The old master had given this aspiring upstart the best gift a nature photographer could want!"
