CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.- Edward McCormick Blair Sr. has donated forty-one works by Paul Gaugin to the Art Institute of Chicago. Jean and Steven Goldman donated ninety Italian Renaissance and Baroque drawings to the same museum. Art Institute president James Wood said, "The gift makes the Art Institute a mecca for anyone studying Gauguin’s work." Jean Goldman stated, "This is my family, my second home...It means so much to me to share these (with the museum)." The museum was also given 30 works on paper by postwar and contemporary German artists by Chicago collectors Susan and Lewis Manilow.
