Neuberger Museum Appoints New Development Director |

PURCHASE, NY.- The Neuberger Museum of Art today announced that it has appointed Heather-Marie Brooks as Director of Development. This senior level staff position encompasses responsibility for management of all aspects of the Museum’s development efforts, including fundraising, membership, special events, major gift solicitation, endowment and capital campaigns, annual giving, grant writing, planned giving, and foundation and government funding. In addition, Ms. Brooks will oversee special events and space rentals and be involved in coordinated efforts with the Purchase College campus, Museum Board members, and Auxiliary Volunteers.
Most recently, Brooks was Development Officer for Columbia University’s Community Impact, where she created and implemented a development strategy and conducted extensive research to raise funds for a $1 million budget. At Community Impact, Brooks helped increase individual contributions by 54% and corporate contributions by 71%. She created and implemented a marketing strategy, developed budgets for each of Community Impact’s 27 social service programs, and organized special events, including an auction that raised $120,000.
Prior to that, Brooks was the Development Manager of the Paul Taylor Dance Foundation, where she wrote grant applications and solicitations, managed membership campaigns and cultivated donor relationships. At the Foundation, she organized and planned special cultivation events, including a seven-day London Patron’s Tour.
Brooks holds an Executive Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. In 1999, she received a BA degree cum laude in Art History and Public Policy from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. She is a resident of Riverdale, New York.
The Neuberger Museum of Art, now celebrating its 30th year, engages and inspires audiences by fostering the study, appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of modern art, African art, and the art of our time. The Museum is located on the Westchester County campus of Purchase College, State University of New York.
