OXTED, SURREY, UK.- Surrey police informed that the painting titled The Last Great Romantic by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano was stolen from a home in Oxted on February 9. Police are releasing the image of a high-value painting stolen from a burglary in Oxted in the hope that someone might recognise it.

The painting by well known artist Jack Vettriano was stolen along with other items at a burglary on Icehouse Wood in Oxted on Wednesday 9 February 2005. The offenders entered the house during daylight hours and removed a large amount of property including electrical items, jewellery and a Volvo XC 90 that was parked on the driveway.

Investigating officer PC Jules Knowles said: “We are releasing the image of this painting in the hope that someone may have seen it at some point since the burglary took place. Perhaps you have seen it for sale somewhere or perhaps someone has offered to sell it to you. If you have any information at all about the painting or about the burglary then please get in contact with me; you may have vital details that could lead to us identifying the burglars responsible.”
