Online Slot Myths Debunked

Online slots might be considered strange, mystical, mysterious things to those who don’t understand them. But for those who do enjoy them, they can still be strange. There are so many myths that abound about them that it can feel almost impossible to really know much about them at all. However, something that must be remembered is that myths are just that – myths. And that means they are more than likely not true. If something about online slots has been confusing you and you want to know whether it’s true or not read on; we might just mention the issue you’re having.

Slot Games Might Be Due A Win
Have you actually kept playing on a slot machine or web-based slot because, in spite of the reality that you're losing each time, you believe the slot is 'due a win' and it is certain to shell out for you at some time? Many men and women have experienced this during their time playing, and this idea of a win being due is a big problem because they will place far too much money into the game as they are so confident they will win it all back when the slot finally pays out.

This is not how slots work. They're programmed with a random number generator (RNG). This means that the reels spin and stop randomly. Since it really is random, they can't be predicted, so the slot certainly does not know if it's 'due' a win. It either lands in a winning combination or it doesn’t and that’s it. You could play for days and not see a win come to you at all. Other times it might happen on the first spin.

Land Based Slots Are Better Payers Than Online Slots
Another online slot myth is the fact that the actual physical, land based models pay out more often and with increased quantities, therefore it is safer to play these than internet slots. Once again, that is not true; both kinds of slots make use of the RNG system, so neither is 'better' than the other. The chances of winning will be the same.
Concerning the amount of money which could be won, this will be based on the game and absolutely nothing else. Some jackpots are larger since they are connected and progressive, for instance, but those in single games will be smaller. It doesn’t make much difference if they are online or not.

Slot Games Pay Out At Certain Times of Day
The concept that it is safer to play slot at specific times of the morning because there's far more potential for winning is an idea that might come from online bingo. In bingo, this is the case – if you are playing when few other people are, there is more chance to win (albeit you’ll be winning less money). But when it comes to slots, this is not the case. It won’t matter how many other people are playing because each game is individual, so you can play whenever you want to and have the same chance of winning as any other time. It’s part of what makes slots so good – you really can play when it suits and you won’t be disadvantaging yourself because of your choice.
