LAKELAND, FLORIDA.- The Polk Museum of Art presents Drawn from Life: Works on Paper from the Freundlich Collection, on view through July 24, 2005 at the Emily S. Macey Gallery. Works in the Freundlich Collection include drawings by many of the most important artists of the early 20th century. Robert Henri, Raphael Soyer, Ben Shahn and George Bellows are just a few of the many artists whose work is included in this exhibition.

The inviting entrance of the Polk Museum of Art leads into the Hollis Gallery, a gateway to the Museum’s two main galleries. Here, works both historic and contemporary visit the Museum as traveling exhibitions.

Just outside the main galleries is the George Jenkins Student Gallery, dedicated to showcasing the works of Polk County public school students year round. The Perkins Gallery houses traveling exhibitions, usually by a single artist. Upstairs, the Murray and Ledger Galleries exhibit traveling exhibitions and permanent collection exhibits. Dorothy Jenkins Gallery & Emily S. Macey Gallery are the two main galleries featuring works from artists with national and local traveling exhibitions.
