MALMÖ, SWEDEN.- Rooseum presents Ryan Lieu - I'm Having a Party!, on view through July 17, 2005. I'm having a party! is a sculpture and video installation by Chicago based artist Ryan Lieu featuring a grand mass of party decorations collected by the artist. By gathering these symbolic ornaments typically used to transform a space into a temporary stage for people to celebrate,I'm having a party!gives form to festivity and creates an environment from the impermanent state of partying. To open the exhibition, the artist will throw a party in the space to celebrate the fun of throwing parties and would like to invite you to attend. Ryan Lieu has been invited to do a project at Rooseum by Jenny Yurshansky, participating in the Critical Studies program 2004 - 2005.
