|
KRAKOW, POLAND.- The city of Krakow plans to establish an art museum in the historic factory that belonged to Oskar Schindler. Schindler is credited with saving 1,200 lives during World War II. Authorities in Krakow hope to get European funding for 1.15m euro for this project later this year.
Tadeusz Trzmiel, Krakow deputy mayor, said: "The establishment of a museum in this historic factory is part of the rehabilitation of the industrial area of Zablocie."
This museum will house modern works of art and a permanent exhibition dedicated to Oskar Schindler. Schindler died in 1974 at the age of 66.
