PARIS, FRANCE.- Last Wednesday, John-Jacques Aillagon was reassigned to the presidency of the National Center of Art and Culture Georges-Pompidou, by the council of ministers, on suggestion by the French Minister of Culture, Catherine Tasca. In the history of the Center, it is the first time that a person is assigned as president for a third mandate. This exceptional occurrence will allow him to renew the direction of the institution. John-Jacques Aillagon will equally assume the responsibilities and problems following the renovation works of the building that were finished on January 1, 2000. He will also be in charge of coordinating big exhibitions and depositing the collections of the national Museum of Modern Art (MNAM) in large museums around the country.
