"Flamingos on the Beach" in Miami Beach.



MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.- "Flamingos on the Beach" opened in Miami Beach. This is an outdoor sculpture installation of larger-than-life flamingos that will be on view throughOctober 2002.  Flocks of these beautiful birds will be found in public areas throughout Miami Beach - painted, collaged, bejeweled and bedazzled – by artists from near and far.



What better way to promote tourism and support the arts! This will be a major component of the multi-million dollar "Festival Season" national advertising and marketing campaign to promote tourism in Miami Beach October 14, 2002.



One-of-a-kind flamingos will be prominently located throughout Miami Beach, providing excellent publicity and promotion for companies and individuals. These high impact flocks of flamingos will provide local businesses the opportunity to create special events around their flamingos.



Flamingo sponsors may choose designs from a portfolio of over 400 artist renderings, or they may choose their own artist. Any flamingo design that was not juried into the project must be reviewed and accepted by the Flamingos on the Beach panel prior to implementation.



Flamingos are available in two poses:  wings folded or wings outstretched. Flamingo sponsorships at $2000 per flamingo are tax deductable – and the sponsor keeps the flamingo at the end of the project. Sponsorship includes fees to the artist, installation, labor and transportation.
