HANOVER, NH.-The Hood Museum of Art will present Fred Wilson, October 1 - December 11, 2005. The Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College, has commissioned a major site-specific exhibition by internationally recognized artist Fred Wilson that reflects the museum's commitment to self-scrutiny, diversity, and cultural sensitivity on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary. Wilson, the United States representative at the 2003 Venice Biennale, will turn his critical attention to the college's collections and its history as an educational institution in the Upper Connecticut River Valley. The resulting art installation will be accompanied by a scholarly catalogue documenting the residency and exhibition, to be published early in 2006.
This exhibition was organized by the Hood Museum of Art. Its presentation is generously funded in part by a grant from the LEF Foundation, and by the William B. Jaffe and Evelyn A. Hall Fund and the George O. Southwick 1957 Memorial Fund.
