Museum Caper Thrills Members Once Again!

CHATTANOOGA, TN.-Downtown Chattanooga’s Museum Caper is a once-a-year chance for members of the Hunter Museum of American Art, the Tennessee Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, Houston Museum of Decorative Arts, Chattanooga African American Museum, and the Chattanooga Regional History Museum to celebrate together and explore each other’s museums for free. On Friday, September 16, each museum will offer special activities, exhibits, tours, gift shop discounts and membership incentives to their members from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Express Shuttle vans will rotate among 5 stops.

The public is encouraged to join in the caper fun by becoming a member of any participating museum before or on the event night. Betty Miles, Event, Travel and Sponsor Coordinator at the Tennessee Aquarium said, “This event is our way of showing our members how much we appreciate their support. It also gives members of all participating museums an opportunity to experience what is unique about their “sister” attractions while discovering the benefits of becoming their members too.”

Caper reservations can be made through the Tennessee Aquarium beginning August 29. For additional information or to register, call (423)267-FISH; (800)262-0695 or on-line at www.tnaqua.org under Events and Travel.

The Hunter Museum of American Art is located at 10 Bluff View in Chattanooga. The Museum is open every day until 5:00 pm, Thursday’s until 9:00pm. Closed Wednesdays Labor Day through Memorial Day. For more information the public may call the Museum at (423) 267-0968, or visit the website at www.huntermuseum.org.
