CINCINNATI, OHIO.-The Contemporary Arts Center presents today Tony Oursler, on view through April, 2006. Tony Oursler studied at the California Institute for the Arts and currently works in the mediums of video, sculpture, installation, performance, and painting. He has a fascination for technology and its potential to replicate human emotion and spirituality. He is most known for animating non-living objects with the use of projectors. Using dark humor, his pieces often project a full or partial talking face onto an object, while a complaining voice calls out. For the CAC, Oursler's works will be installed in the open-windowed Kaplan Hall of the CAC enticing passers-by to take a closer look and come inside the museum. This exhibition is organized by CAC Alice & Harris Weston Director Linda Shearer. Exhibition sponsor The Dr. Stanley & Mickey Kaplan Foundation.
