LONDON, ENGLAND.- The UK’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust, announced today that Sir William Proby will succeed Charles Nunneley as Chairman from 1 May 2003.
William Proby is a member of the National Trust’s Finance Committee. He is a former President of the Historic Houses Association, and currently Chairman of Swift Technologies Ltd and a director of Pavilion Angel Investors Ltd, as well as a member of the Advisory Council of Tate Britain and Chairman of the Patrons of British Art. He is responsible for running the family estate and farming business near Peterborough, including Elton Hall, a Grade 1 listed house open to the public
Sir Henry Aubrey Fletcher will become Deputy Chairman when Jonathan Peel retires at the end of June 2002. Henry Aubrey Fletcher has served on the Trust’s Council since 1995 and is Chairman of its Properties Committee.
