Orlando Museum of Art promotes Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon to Chief Curator
Claeysen-Gleyzon has been with the museum since January 2018.



ORLANDO, FLA.- The Orlando Museum of Art announced the promotion of Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon to the position of Chief Curator. Coralie has been an integral part of the museum since January 2018, serving in various roles, including Associate Curator, Curator, and most recently, Interim Head of the Collections and Exhibitions Department.

“I am delighted to announce Coralie’s well-deserved promotion.” says Executive Director and CEO, Cathryn J. Mattson. “During her time with OMA, Coralie has developed deep relationships within the Orlando arts and cultural community and beyond. I value her creativity and dedication to the museum and look forward to collaborating with her as we lead OMA into its next chapter.”

Originally from France and raised in Niger, Africa, Coralie brings a wealth of international experience and a unique perspective to her role. She holds an MA in Visual Culture and a BA with Honors in Culture, Media, and Communications from Lancaster University, UK, as well as a DEUG in Language Sciences and Cultural Mediation from Université Paul Cézanne, Aix-Marseille III, in France.

Claeysen-Gleyzon’s career spans museums and art galleries worldwide, having served in key positions such as Creative Project Manager and Exhibitions Officer for URBIS in the UK, Gallery Director of the Third Line Gallery in Doha, Qatar, and as an independent art consultant in Beirut, Lebanon. Before joining the Orlando Museum of Art, she worked as Gallery Director for Jai Gallery and volunteered as an associate curator for Snap! Orlando.

During her tenure at the Orlando Museum of Art, Coralie has curated numerous exhibitions that have captivated audiences and contributed to the museum's cultural impact. Some of her notable exhibitions include 100 Years of Art (2024), A Mother, Possibly (2023), Visual Conversations: Expressions of Individuality and Community (2020), and Bill Viola: Moving Stillness (2023). She has also co-curated the annual Florida Prize in Contemporary Art for the past five years, showcasing the museum's commitment to contemporary artistic expression.

Coralie is deeply passionate about contemporary art that addresses socially engaged practices, interdisciplinarity, and the shifting of borders. Her creative vision and dedication to presenting compelling exhibitions have positioned the Orlando Museum of Art as a catalyst for social change.

Claeysen-Gleyzon's international experience, creative acumen, and dedication to contemporary art have significantly enriched the Orlando Museum of Art. Her commitment to interdisciplinary exploration aligns with the museum’s mission to stimulate creativity and intellectual curiosity through compelling art. With her thoughtful leadership, the Orlando Museum of Art will further elevate its impact and reach within the Central Florida community.
