DiVA Paris To Take Place at KUBE Hotel
DiVA Paris.

PARIS, FRANCE.- From October 26th to the 29th, The KUBE Hotel in the 18th arrondissement will host the DiVA Paris. In its second edition, DiVA offers a selection of 20 to 25 galleries that have dedicated intensive attention to the work of their artist that uses video and the digital media to express themselves. Galleries will use the guest rooms as exhibition space while the public areas will present a works by Yoko Ono, the pioneer artist DiVA Paris will pay tribute to this year.

We chose the Kube Hotel because it is a perfect fit for the fair. Its unusual location matches the exclusive identity of the fair. The architecture of the hotel matches our focus on Video and new media art; the hotel offers large plasma screens in the bar/lounge lobby, the whole ways are painted in black to open to bright white rooms. The interior court finds a large glass cube used as reception area where Jong Bun Choi presented a monumental video performance at DiVA 05.

DiVA is the first art fair dedicated to video and digital art. Since the invention of photography, nothing has had a greater impact on artistic practice than the emergence of the personal video camera, and later, digital technology. Today, cameras and video cameras, digital and otherwise, with the aid of computers, have become the ultimate tool in creating a dynamic arena for artistic _expression without the limits imposed by the artist’s physical surroundings.

The concentration of serious collectors in Paris, both contemporary art lovers and those who collect as part of family tradition, makes Paris one of the most important places for exhibiting video art and new media. DiVA Paris promises to be a valuable addition to the city’s art arena with local collectors welcoming video as a serious part of their collections.
