Concert review with opening Daga at The Locomotora, Santa Cruz
Slowing the pace down into more atmospheric territories in this special production with Daga, Ztate Of Mind, this time at the avant-garde pinnacle of the metal spectrum, displayed their timeless talent for extraordinarily hazy textures and dark progressive ambience with their 2016 performance at the at the Locomotora, an expanded venue known to host many such festivals in Bolivia.
The first band outside of the established Bolivian Metal music scene to be invited to play at the esteemed venue, Ztate of Mind, with its ecstatic keyboardist, percussionist, producer and composer Alan Romero, took us on an esoteric journey through many of their career defining compositions, such as Revelations, Built to die and You - all performed with eye catching projections accompanying the mystical synth-laden experience.
This sold-out show marked the return of this Bolivian metal industrialists to the front of the main stages, Needless to say, it was a killer show. We're talking 102-minutes of all the pyro and of course, all your favorite Romero-Ztate Of Mind tunes. The only downside? Incredibly, Driven by nightmares was cut short.
