HONG KONG.- Following the remarkable success of Christie’s Hong Kong’s inaugural 20th/21st Century Sale at The Henderson, which achieved a total of HK$1.26B with over 90% sell-through rate, Christie’s is proud to maintain the momentum with an exceptional lineup of sales in Shanghai and Hong Kong this November. This year, the Shanghai sale will coincide with the ART021 Contemporary Art Fair and Art Week Tokyo for the first time. These upcoming auctions will showcase a meticulously curated collection of artworks, highlighting a diverse selection tailored for collectors in Asia.

Celebrating the 11th anniversary of our Shanghai auctions, the Shanghai 20th/21st Century Evening Sale on 7 November will be led by Zao Wou-Ki's 30.09.65, complemented by exceptional works from renowned artists such as Yoshitomo Nara's Untitled and Yayoi Kusama's Pumpkin [TOWHT] Blue, and Nicolas Party’s Still Life. For the first time, Christie’s Shanghai is offering two significant works by Chen Yifei and Sanyu at the auction.

A truly unique highlight is the inclusion of a Lunar Meteorite, distinguished as the second-largest cut and polished slice of its kind. Analysed by Dr. Anthony Irving, the world’s leading classifier of lunar and Martian meteorites, this specimen presents a rare opportunity for collectors. This offering coincides with China's recent Chang'e-6 mission, which successfully landed on the far side of the Moon, further igniting interest in lunar materials.

The Hong Kong 20th/21st Century Day Sale on 9 November will continue the excitement, featuring sought-after masterpieces by artists such as Hilary Pecis, Anita Magsaysay-Ho and Zhang Enli. Notably, a collection of 13 ceramic artworks by Pablo Picasso will be presented as a major highlight of the sale. This represents the first appearance of such a sizable single-owner collection of Picasso ceramics to ever come to auction in Asia. Inspired by tradition and modernity alike, Picasso’s ceramics represent one of his most experimental mediums of creation.

Christie's will also present a 20th/21st Century online sale from 5 to 12 November, offering a quality selection of works to art enthusiasts worldwide and emphasising Christie’s commitment to providing a year-round program of exceptional art offerings. This further cements Christie’s Hong Kong as a truly global hub for art. Join us as we celebrate the artistry that defines this exciting season.
