MEXICO CITY.- Mexico City awaits "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition" RMS Titanic, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Premier Exhibitions, Inc., has announced that it will open "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition" at Foro Polanco in Mexico City on October 14, 2006. The Exhibition will be presented in association with OCESA, a leader in live entertainment.
"Titanic's story has many ties to Mexico City and we look forward to bringing the history of the ship and its passengers to Foro Polanco," states Arnie Geller President and CEO of Premier Exhibitions. "In addition, we are pleased to continue our partnership with OCESA who staged the very successful presentation of BODIES REVEALED this past spring and made Foro Polanco a leading Exhibition venue in Mexico City."
The Exhibition is a chronological journey through life on board the Titanic. Each visitor becomes a passenger and feels the excitement of that April day as they step into authentically recreated first and third class accommodations, visit the Veranda Cafe where passengers would find their dining options for the evening and view rescued artifacts from the ocean floor of the Titanic. In the Memorial Room, visitors will learn about the aftermath of the disaster, the relief funds, and the efforts to find over 1,500 lost loved ones. Visitors will then feel the temperature drop, learn details of the sinking, touch on iceberg and understand the theories of this tragic tale.
RMS Titanic, Inc. is the only company permitted by law to recover objects from the wreck of the Titanic. The Company was granted Salvor-in-possession rights by a United States federal court in 1994 and has conducted seven research and recovery expeditions to Titanic and recovered approximately 5,500 artifacts.
