Art Museum Benefit Luncheon, Designer Handbag Sale

MYRTLE BEACH, SC.- The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum will hold the Art Museum Benefit Luncheon, Designer Handbag Sale Set for Nov. 8. How often do you get a chance to shop for the perfect gift or accessory and benefit a worthy cause at the same time – and get lunch thrown into the bargain? The chance arises on Nov. 8, from 11:30 a.m-1 p.m., when the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum holds its Second Annual Bag Ladies Luncheon at the Dunes Beach and Golf Club, 9000 N. Ocean Blvd.

The main purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Museum’s operating budget, which provides free admission to all patrons year-round as well as supporting numerous education and outreach programs. A secondary reason, of course, is to offer area women a shot at some terrific bargains on one-of-a-kind handbags, just in time for gift-giving and the holidays’ special events.

The selections range from serious to whimsical, casual to after-five. And it gets even better: Drawings will be held for a Judith Leiber jeweled evening bag valued at $3,500 and for a MoRoo evening bag valued at $600.

Tickets for the event are $35 per person, available at the Art Museum, 3100 N. Ocean Blvd., or by calling 843-238-2510. Space is limited and reservations are required.

The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is a wholly nonprofit institution located across from Springmaid Pier at 3100 South Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. Components of Museum programs are funded in part by support from the City of Myrtle Beach, the Horry County Council and the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
