Nicola Bertellotti, Mise en abyme: la rovina nella rovina, 2023, fotografia digitale, 48x60 cm.

ROBECCHETTO CON INDUNO.- The post-industrial space SAC – Spazio Arte Contemporanea in Robecchetto con Induno (MI) is currently hosting a vibrant and moving exhibition, "Poli," which opened on February 22nd and runs until April 12th, 2025. This isn't just another art show; it's a tribute to the late Luca Poli, a beloved gallerist and influential figure in the contemporary art world, whose Milan gallery, Maelström, nurtured and showcased emerging talent for years.

"Poli," curated by Nicoletta Candiani, Fabio Presti, and Pietro Salvatore, brings together 20 artists whose careers intersected with Maelström, a gallery that, from 2010 to 2017, became a vital hub for artistic expression. Poli, alongside Rita Marziani, created a space that fostered creativity and connection, even expanding to offer Art Advisory services in 2012. His commitment to young artists and their diverse approaches is beautifully reflected in this diverse collection of works.

The exhibition is a testament to Poli's impact, showcasing the breadth of his artistic community. Sculptures, photographs, paintings, and graphic art pieces fill the SAC space, each telling its own story while contributing to the larger narrative of Poli's influence.

From Andrea Cereda's geometric explorations of reality in his sculpture The Order of Things to Alice Olimpia Attanasio's poignant commentary on the plight of fish in her installation Under Water, the exhibition offers a wide range of artistic perspectives. Alex Pinna's bronze sculpture Knockout (Joe Frazier) freezes the dynamism of boxing, while Guido Airoldi's Lèmene subtly blends art and nature, mimicking ammonite stone.

Photography plays a prominent role, with Nicola Bertellotti's Mise en abyme: the ruin in the ruin exploring the concept of image reduplication, and Tommaso Fiscaletti's Mute #11 capturing the dialogue between a carousel and its surroundings. Sara Giannantempo's diptych Filles a parties, Filles d'amour, Filles en circulation from her "A New Slavery" series centers on the female figure, while Francesco Minucci's "Reality Show" series delves into the theme of masks and societal appearances. Vincenzo Todaro's girl, child and doll evokes a sense of time-worn humanity.

Painting is also well represented, with Ilaria del Monte's works exploring nature and cityscapes, Matteo Nannini's canvases depicting scenes from Eden, and Gaia Lionello's Suspended Lands capturing a sense of ethereal beauty. Fabio Presti's House on Mars series imagines human-occupied extraterrestrial landscapes, while Tina Sgrò's REPERTI offers a gritty urban glimpse. Armando Fettolini's Learning to Fly and Omar Canzi's UNTITLED demonstrate the power of abstract expression.

Graphic artists also contribute their unique voices. Erica Campanella's Sentiment and Truth captures the essence of lost beauty in a flower, while Willow's Solo and Jungle Floor explore a Neo-Pop aesthetic. Arianna Piazza's Untitled delves into an autobiographical exploration of the body.

"Poli" is more than just an exhibition; it's a celebration of a man who dedicated his life to art and artists. It's a chance to experience the diverse talents he championed and to reflect on the lasting impact of his work. If you're in the Robecchetto con Induno area, this exhibition is a must-see for anyone interested in contemporary art and the power of artistic community.
