Giuseppe Porcelli's first manifesto project: The Garçonnière
Porcelli likes to express design in fine taste, with his Garçonnière, he is bringing something unique to next design week: a piece of theatre, an immersive installation that reimagines Napoleon’s military tent into a single room apartment, a modern way to live.

MILAN.- Giuseppe Porcelli is set to unveil his inaugural furniture collection at the upcoming Milano Design Week, as part as Garçonnière manifesto project, a captivating and intimate concept within a pied-à-terre in the heart of Milan’s vibrant Città Studi district. Drawing from the charged tension around male love, Porcelli’s work delves into themes of ego, loneliness, solitude, and hedonism. By reinterpreting the traditional Garçonnière—once a private retreat for heterosexual male affairs—Porcelli seeks to challenge its original meaning and redefine it through the lens of the gay experience. This new take transforms the space into a personal sanctuary, where taste, status, and intimacy converge. The project is set to offer a provocative and bold perspective on private spaces, blending design with deeper emotional and cultural narratives.

Porcelli likes to express design in fine taste, with his Garçonnière, he is bringing something unique to next design week: a piece of theatre, an immersive installation that reimagines Napoleon’s military tent into a single room apartment, a modern way to live. While exploring contrast, sophistication and eclecticism, the work emerges perfectly aligned with the theme of the immersive room. Like two sides of the same coin, masculinity and femininity play in tension creating a balance of unexpected juxtapositions. Polished steel and antique brass, glass and mirror, turtleshell and leopard, moiré and silk satin are the codes of this timeless language. Solid-looking volumes are flawed with tassels, ruffles, capitonné, and bamboo details, redefining the boundaries of a genre with a new esthetics. The installation that will be presented in April will be created using the exquisite Fortuny fabrics, adding a timeless elegance and an additional sensory depth to Giuseppe Porcelli’s intimate and refined design concept.

Giuseppe Porcelli, architect and designer, founded his interior and design studio in 2021. Known for his ability to fuse antiques with contemporary elements and bespoke creations, Porcelli's aesthetic is both bold and timeless. His style is characterised by a combination of rich textures, vibrant colours and a distinctly theatrical lighting, evoking a sense of nostalgia, yet contaminated by references to the present, the result of a balance of surprising and unexpected contrasts. Currently, his creativity is shaping new hospitality and residential projects in Rome, Milan and Dubai, further consolidating his reputation in the world of interiors. In addition to architecture and interiors, Porcelli collaborates in fashion and collectible design creating concepts for brands and design galleries, creating unique pieces that embody his style.
