LONDON.- The highly anticipated Wales Contemporary exhibition returns in 2025 , showcasing a stunning array of contemporary artworks from across the globe.

The exhibition will launch at The Garrison Chapel in Chelsea , London, from Tuesday 25 February to Sunday 9 March, before touring to the Waterfront Gallery in Milford Haven from Friday 21 March to Saturday 17 May.

Developed in 2019 by the Waterfront Gallery, and sponsored by the Port of Milford Haven , Wales Contemporary strives to inspire diverse audiences of art lovers, and to reward talented contemporary artists.

This year’s competition saw an overwhelming 1,600 entries by over 800 artists , with works spanning painting, sculpture, drawing, print, ceramics, textiles, and glass.

After a lengthy deliberation, a distinguished panel of judges - including artists Katherine Jones RA, Kelvin Okafor and Ian ‘H’ Watkins - carefully shortlisted 147 outstanding artworks for display in the 2025 exhibition.

The exhibition will be free to see from Tuesday 24 February to Sunday 9 March at the Garrison Chapel in Chelsea, London, from 11am to 6pm (Monday to Friday). The gallery is closed on Sunday 2nd March, and shuts at 3pm on Sunday 9th. The exhibition is then available to view from Friday 21 March to Saturday 17 May at the Waterfront Gallery in Milford Haven, from 10.30am to 4pm (Tuesday to Saturday).

The London Public Choice Award , decided by visitor votes, will be revealed online on Sunday 9 March at 4:30pm . The public will also have the opportunity to vote at the Milford Haven exhibition, with an additional £1,000 Public Choice Prize awarded there.

This diverse exhibition brings contemporary art from around the world to visitors of all ages in London’s Garrison Chapel in Chelsea, and the coastal Pembrokeshire town of Milford Haven.

Artworks included in the exhibition will come to the South of Wales from across the globe , as well as including a wide representation of art from all four nations of the United Kingdom - Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Art enthusiasts can look forward to a diverse mix of subjects and styles, from scenic Welsh landscapes and dramatic coastlines to wildlife of all shapes and sizes. The exhibition will also showcase textured sculptures, creatively surreal drawings, hyper-realistic paintings, and bold abstract works—just to name a few.

A total of £15,000 will be awarded to outstanding works in the 2025 exhibition , including the Graham Sutherland Prize of £3,000 and the Public Choice Prize of £1,000. Artists can vie for distinctions both in the two-dimensional and three-dimensional categories, with top prizes worth £2,000. Winners of all awards to be announced on the 24 February at 5:30pm.
