Cristin Tierney announces move to Tribeca
In its first year of programming, Cristin Tierney Gallery will present a dynamic series of solo, two-person, and group exhibitions that reflect its dedication to intellectually engaging, interdisciplinary work—honoring its legacy while championing a new generation of artists.

NEW YORK, NY.- Cristin Tierney Gallery announced the opening of its new ground-floor space at 49 Walker Street, in the heart of the Tribeca Art District. This relocation coincides with the gallery’s 15th anniversary and will debut with an inaugural group exhibition showcasing a selection of many of the artists it has collaborated with over the years. A separate celebratory event will also be held to mark this milestone.

Union Street Studio Architects, whose partner Norman Cox is a longtime collaborator of gallery owner Cristin Tierney, designed the new storefront location—a 4,000-square-foot, two-level space. The main ground-floor gallery is 2,000 square feet and is designed to display large-scale works, along with additional exhibition spaces, including a semi-permanent black box for video art and multimedia installations. The space also includes private viewing rooms, offices, and art storage.

“Moving to a ground-floor space in Tribeca is an exciting moment for us—especially as we celebrate our 15th anniversary. It’s a reflection of where we’ve been and where we’re headed,” says Founder Cristin Tierney. “We see this move as an opportunity to lean further into the kind of unconventional, thought-provoking programming that has always defined us. The new space allows us to experiment with more ambitious formats, engage more broadly with the public, and deepen our commitment to education and dialogue around contemporary art. We are looking forward to being an active part of the Tribeca arts community.”

In its first year of programming, Cristin Tierney Gallery will present a dynamic series of solo, two-person, and group exhibitions that reflect its dedication to intellectually engaging, interdisciplinary work—honoring its legacy while championing a new generation of artists.

Founded in 2010, Cristin Tierney Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located on The Bowery with a deep commitment to the presentation, development and support of a roster of both established and emerging artists. Its program emphasizes artists engaged with critical theory and art history, with an emphasis on conceptual, video, and performance art. Education and audience engagement is central to our mission.
