Guitar collection hits a chord at Roland's Multi-Estates April 5th auction

GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY presented an impressive collection of guitars as part of their Multi-Estates auction on Saturday, April 5th, which featured items from multiple noteworthy estates.


2000 Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar, Solid body electric guitar. Sold for $4550.

The guitars drew a lot of attention, both online and in the room, with every guitar selling high. This pristine collection of rare and highly desirable guitars and guitar accessories came from a prominent New York collector, which included guitars by Gibson, Gretsch, Fender, Hamer and PRS, with original hard shell cases and all documentation and certificates.


Gibson 1956 Gold Top Les Paul Reissue Guitar. Sold for $3575.

These top selling guitars included a 2000 Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 2000. This Les Paul has an ebony colorway paired with all gold hardware. Its original case contains keys, a truss rod tool, and paperwork. All original hardware selling for $4550, a 2002 Fender Closet Classic Reissue Stratocaster, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 2002. This Stratocaster is a custom shop reissue of the 1956 Closet Classic guitar. Paperwork is included, along with strap buttons, a cable, tremolo bar, strap, and an original tweed case. All original hardware, which sold for $3900 and a Gibson 1956 Gold Top Les Paul Reissue Guitar, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA. Has soap bar pickups. Comes with custom hardshell Gibson case. All original hardware, selling for $3575.


1996 Fender FMT 1960 Reissue Stratocaster Guitar, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 1996. Sold for $3250.


Also offered was a 1996 Fender FMT 1960 Reissue Stratocaster Guitar, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 1996. This FMT Stratocaster is a custom shop model that has factory plastic on the pickguard and a sticker over the tremolo system. Comes with paperwork, Fender picks, strap, keys, and a brown tortex case inspired by those made in the late 1950's. All original hardware, going for $3,250, a 1998 Gibson ES175 Guitar, Single cutaway hollow body electric guitar made in the USA in 1998. Guitar has a vintage tobacco sunburst colorway. Factory hardshell case is included. Guitar does not have paperwork. All original hardware, also selling for $3,250 and a 2001 Gibson SG Peter Townshend Guitar, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 2001. This is a limited edition signature series SG, being #248 out of the 250 produced. Townshend's signature is printed on the back of the headstock along with the edition number. Comes with paperwork in a Gibson USA hardshell case. All original hardware, going for $3,250 as well.

As the collection continued, a Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop 1954 Reissue, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA. Sports a maple neck with factory plastic still on the pickguard. Has a tremolo system, but its tremolo bar is not included. Comes in a vintage colorway and is in a vintage tweed case. All original hardware., sold for $2,600, a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Guitar, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 2001. Features soap bar pickups and is in the Trans Red colorway. Comes with paperwork and factory hardshell case. All original hardware, went for $2,340, a 2003 Fender Robert Cray Stratocaster Guitar, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 2003. This is a custom shop Stratocaster with all gold hardware. Includes paperwork, a cable, strap, and an original brown tortex reissue case. All original hardware, sold for $2,080, a 2010 Gretsch Chet Atkins Model Guitar, hollow body electric guitar made in Japan in 2010. Features a Bigsby tremolo, pearlized inlays, gold hardware, tritonic pickups, and comes in the Western Orange Stain colorway. Comes with paper work and original hardshell case. Factory plastic is still on the pickguard and factory foam is on the arm of the Bigsby. All original hardware, going for $1,950 and a 2007 Fender Mary Kaye 1957 Reissue Stratocaster, Solid body electric guitar made in the USA in 2007. Limited edition Stratocaster featuring a white colorway with all gold hardware. Still has factory stickers throughout pickguard, neck mounting plate, and backplate. Included are a tweed case, paperwork, tremolo bar, and strap. All original hardware, which sold for $1,820.
