GIJÓN.- The Fundación LABoral Centro de Arte, Creación Industrial y Promoción Cultural opens the selection period to fill the position of Director of the Center, which will have a five-year renewable term, under the contractual conditions specified in the terms and conditions of this notice.

Job description

The position will entail artistic management, with responsibilities such as:

• Propose to the Board of Trustees the actions to be carried out in the artistic field.

• Develop a theoretical and conceptual discourse for the LABoral project.

• Explore and promote new forms of research and artistic production.

• Elaborate and propose the annual program of activities for each of the Center’s areas: exhibitions, production and research residencies, education and public programs.

• Develop and coordinate the Center’s communication and dissemination strategy.

• Promote and establish the relations of collaboration and exchange with other cultural, educational or scientific entities and institutions at the local, national and international level, and establish networks and collaboration programs that make possible the collaboration and realization of different projects. Special attention will be given to strengthening the Center’s relations with the Asturian artistic and cultural scene.

The Management will also be in charge of the management of the Fundación La Laboral, Centro de Arte, Creación Industrial y Promoción Cultural, implementing the agreements adopted by the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee. In this respect, it will have the following responsibilities:

• Direction and coordination of the staff assigned to the Center

• Coordination and direction of the Foundation’s services

• Acting as the contracting body, within the limits and authorizations granted to them by the Board of Trustees

• Preparation of the center’s annual income and expense budgets, with the use of both public and private resources

• Promotion of, in coordination with the Board of Trustees, the acquisition of financial support to contribute to the economic sustainability of the Center’s activities through the management of national, European or international aid and through sponsorship and patronage by other public or private institutions

The Management will have support in general services, human resources and external technical assistance for issues such as auditing, tax, accounting and labor services related to the Center.
