DALLAS, TX.- A stunning fancy intense yellow diamond set in an 18k gold ring dazzled bidders in Heritage’s Spring Fine Jewelry Signature® Auction on Monday, realizing $337,500. The 14.14-carat pear-shaped stone flanked by approximately 2.10 carats of trillion-cut diamonds helped lead the event to a $5,756,914 finish.

Joining the star lot was another fancy intense yellow diamond ring, this one featuring an 11.67-carat stone as its sparkling centerpiece. It realized $193,750.

The auction also featured a wonderful selection of colorless diamonds, including a 7.50-carat marquise-shaped diamond and platinum ring that sold for $187,500. A gorgeous interpretation of the classic three-stone design, the ring features two pear-shaped diamonds flanking its striking center stone. Other standouts were a 10.16-carat oval-shaped diamond and platinum ring that brought $175,000, a diamond and platinum necklace with a total of approximately 39.00 carats of diamonds that realized $100,000 and a 7.70-carat diamond and platinum ring that sold for $84,375.

“These exceptional diamonds captivated our bidders not just for their brilliance and rarity but because each stone tells a story of timeless beauty that jewelry lovers couldn’t resist,” says Jill Burgum, Heritage’s Executive Director of Fine Jewelry.

In addition to remarkable diamonds, the auction featured a bevy of colored gemstones, like the regal 14.56-carat Burma sapphire that serves as the centerpiece of this statement-making ring. The velvety-blue, oval-shaped stone, which realized $150,000, more than doubled its high pre-auction estimate. Also more than doubling its high pre-auction estimate was this Charlton platinum ring with a cushion-shaped Ceylon sapphire weighing 13.22 carats that sold for $106,250.

Other colorful standouts included a mesmerizing white gold pendant-necklace showcasing a 23.97-carat oval-shaped Colombian emerald that realized $75,000 and a sapphire and 18k gold necklace by Italian master jeweler Gianmaria Buccellati that sold for $42,500.

Apropos for spring, the May 5 event also featured a menagerie of jewels featuring animals, insects and flowers. Leading the nature-inspired offerings was a limited-edition Rabbit Waiter brooch by Scott West for Raymond Yard, which sold for $62,500 after frenzied bidding drove the result to more than twice its high pre-auction estimate. Adorned in a pavé-set diamond ensemble with a striking jacket of full-cut Argyle pink diamonds and calibré-cut rubies, the Champagne-toting rabbit figure exemplifies the brand’s playful sophistication.

Other highlights included a 7.03-carat diamond and platinum ring that realized $62,500, a diamond and 18k gold ring that brought $55,000, a Boucheron diamond and platinum necklace that sold for $52,500, a 5.73-carat diamond and platinum ring that realized $51,250 and a faint pink diamond ring that sold for $50,000.

The auction also featured Property of a European Lady, a splendid single-owner collection of nearly 90 vibrant jewels, watches and accessories that had a 100% sell-through. The top lot was a sensational Gilded Age necklace by French jeweler Edouard Caen that realized $68,750. Other standouts in the collection included two striking jewelry suites by celebrated French jeweler O.J. Perrin — one featuring ruby cabochons and a total of approximately 58.10 carats of diamonds, which sold for $47,500, and another featuring sapphire cabochons and a total of approximately 40.00 carats of diamonds, which realized $45,000.
