Jackson Hole Art Auction announces new ownership
A market leader in American art since 2007, Jackson Hole Art Auction’s three annual sales offer a high standard of works across several genres, including wildlife, sporting, figurative, landscape, Western, and Native American art by both classical masters and contemporary artists.

JACKSON, WY.- Jackson Hole Art Auction announced new ownership, marking a new chapter in its distinguished history.

Since its founding in 2007, Jackson Hole Art Auction has earned a reputation as a market leader, specializing in classic and contemporary masterworks of the American West. The Auction’s sales consistently showcase works from renowned artists, attracting collectors and art enthusiasts from around the world, achieving record-breaking results. Its annual September auction is recognized as one of the premier art events in the country and is a signature event of the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival.

The new ownership group includes long-time Jackson business owner and resident, Terry Winchell of Fighting Bear Antiques; Wilson, WY and Dallas resident, investor, and art collector, Keith Ohnmeis; and Jackson business executive and investor, Phil Harrington. The new owners will draw on the expertise of Denver-based art advisor, Kate Hlavin, who also serves as Curator of the Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale, as they work to expand the Auction’s reach and further enhance the art collecting experience for consignors and buyers alike.

On behalf of the new owners, Winchell said, “we are honored to steward the next chapter of Jackson Hole Art Auction as we continue its longstanding commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation. We look forward to fostering new relationships across the art community and more broadly sourcing the finest examples of Western and wildlife art.”

Kevin Doyle, Managing Director and Partner since 2021, a veteran of the auction world with two decades of experience at Sotheby’s New York, will remain at the helm, ensuring continuity and leadership as the auction house moves forward. “Wyoming, Texas, and Colorado are key markets for us,” said Doyle. “Having additional local support from Terry and the Fighting Bear Antiques team strengthens our connection to the local arts community. And, having partners like Kate Hlavin will help us open many new doors. Our new partners bring a wealth of experience in different areas of the Western art market, from fine art and furniture to Native American artifacts. I’m beyond excited for the fresh leadership and our prospects going forward.”

The upcoming Annual Spring Online Auction, scheduled for May 30th, 2025, will be the first event under the new ownership.
