The crown jewel of the day? Bellville Sassoon Floral Day Dress, selling for $508,000. Other unforgettable moments include the sales of the Catherine Walker Coat Dress for $455,000, over 15X the low estimate, the 1995 Lady Dior Lambskin Handbag for $325,000, over 16X the low estimate, the Catherine Walker Falcon Evening Gown for $455,000, and the Photographed HEAD Scarlet Nylon Ski Suit for $317,500 over 10X the low estimate and the 1997 British Lung Foundation Sweatshirt, for $215,900, over 22X the low estimate; reaffirming Princess Diana’s enduring influence as a global style icon.

"It is an incredible honor to welcome the ‘Caring Dress’ into The Princess Diana Museum’s collection. As the centerpiece of Julien’s world record-breaking auction, this gown represents far more than timeless style—it embodies Princess Diana’s empathy, humanity, kindness and enduring legacy of compassion. What makes this acquisition especially poignant for me is that this is the very dress she was wearing the day I met her for the second time at the age of 18 at St. Andrews Cathedral, in Sydney Australia in 1988. To now be able to preserve this historic piece within The Princess Diana Museum nearly three decades after her own legendary charity auction in 1997 is deeply meaningful. Our mission has always been to safeguard and share Diana’s story with the world, and this extraordinary piece allows us to continue doing just that—for generations to come." said Renae Plant, Founder & Curator, The Princess Diana Museum

“Princess Diana’s timeless style and heartfelt compassion continues to resonate around the world, and today’s record-breaking results are a powerful testament to her enduring legacy,” said Martin Nolan, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Julien’s Auctions. “We were honored to curate this extraordinary collection, and the global response has been nothing short of phenomenal. From elegant gowns to personal, never-before-seen pieces, each item offered a rare and intimate glimpse into the life of Diana, the People’s Princess.”
